WIRING REPAIR

Whole-Home Rewiring by Licensed Electricians

The electrical experts at Quality HVAC Electrical & Plumbing provide whole-home rewires, which is exactly what it sounds like: we go in and replace the complete electrical wiring system of your home. Whole-home rewires are especially important for Houston homeowners with older homes that may have dated and dangerous electrical wiring systems. Because the amount of electricity we use is gradually increasing everyday as we incorporate a growing number of electronics into our homes, like large TVs, cable boxes, game systems, smart home devices, computers, phone and tablet chargers, and a wide range of kitchen and cleaning appliances, it is important to ensure your electrical system is up-to-date so that it can properly accommodate all of your devices and remain a safe resource for your home.

If your electrical system is still operating with knob and tube wiring, aluminum wiring installed in the 1980’s or earlier, or is a two-wire system, your house might be at risk of a major electrical hazard and a whole home rewire is in order to bring your system up to the current electrical safety code. With a Quality HVAC Electrical & Plumbing whole-home rewire, we can guarantee our expert and licensed electricians will provide you with top-level electrical workmanship and quality equipment that meets the highest Houston electrical standards.

Electrical Outlet Installation & Upgrades

While Quality HVAC Electrical & Plumbing installs all new three-prong GFCI electrical outlets as part of our whole-home rewires, some situations may call for us to install new electrical outlets without a full rewire. For example, if one of your home’s outlets doesn’t work or has a loose connection, Quality HVAC Electrical & Plumbing’s licensed electricians in Houston can inspect and troubleshoot the outlet, receptacle, and connection points. Outlet connections can wear out overtime, in which case it may be best to install a new electrical outlet.

Another reason that certain outlets may stop working is that the connection point between the wire and the outlet has become corroded, in which case the connection may spark or arc. If you hear a hissing or buzzing sound coming from your outlets, or if you notice flickering lights or that the area behind your electrical outlets is emanating heat, then you may have an arcing connection behind your wall, which is an Houston electrical hazard that we recommend addressing as soon as possible. In some cases, we can resolve arcing issues by replacing a section of the wire and the electrical outlet. In other cases, arcing behind your outlets means that your home needs a completely new wiring system. In either case, the licensed electricians at Quality HVAC Electrical & Plumbing will inspect your electrical system and advise you on the safest solution. If your home only has two-prong outlets, then we would need to rewire your home to include a grounding system compatible with three-prong receptacles before installing new electrical outlets.

Quality HVAC Electrical & Plumbing can also install new outdoor electrical outlets and new electrical outlets inside the home for additional appliances. Before we can install new outlets, though, we may have to upgrade your electrical panel to ensure that it has the proper voltage and amperage requirements to facilitate additional outlets.
